Is it posible to add a config item to a variant product?

Is it posible to add a config item to a variant product?


For example:


    The pizza product (PIZZA) has "Peppers" as configuration. The Peppers
configuration has own variant products: Green, Hot and  Roasted. Can I add a
config item to "Hot" variant product for config it in ecommerce page?
