[jira] [Created] (YUNIKORN-502) gang request should be checked against the definition

Wilfred Spiegelenburg created YUNIKORN-502:
----------------------------------------------

Summary: gang request should be checked against the definition
                 Key: YUNIKORN-502
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/YUNIKORN-502
             Project: Apache YuniKorn
          Issue Type: Improvement
Components: core - scheduler, shim - kubernetes
            Reporter: Wilfred Spiegelenburg

In the gang scheduling case we currently assume that the user does the correct thing and a real allocation is the same size as the gang definition provided.

We should not rely on that and do a check or overwrite of the resource.
 * Not sure where this fits: shim or core
 * smaller requests can be upsized
 * larger requests should be rejected?
