Using unicode in Regexp.

Hi!
I am validating my JSP form using regular expressions provided by 'Regexp' , where I will be using pattern in XML to specify the pattern.
Assume that JSP has got a text field which can allow the user to enter all the unicode alphabets(multilingual support) except special characters like say '!' '\' etc..
Can we achive this using Regexp and how?

-Thanks in advance
