I too am having a similar issue: I open the "writer" program, it appears to be
working find for upwards of a minute (never longer than that, usually only for
about 15-20 seconds), then it crashes -- giving me the same "unexpected error"
message.
The twist I get is that this is when AOO then stops responding altogether, I
get the nice little Windows error message "This program has stopped responding.
Would you like to close it or wait for it to respond... etc etc"
This problem started when I upgraded to AOO 4.0.1, I never experienced it in
3.4.1. So I uninstalled the newer version, and went back to 3.4.1, but now the
problem is persisting with the reinstalled old version as well.
Unfortunately, I am not very tech-savvy. I cannot provide nearly as detailed
system and environment information as the original poster, though I will galdy
try to provide any information you need, if you would just let me know what
information you need, and how I might attain said information.
I run Windows 7 Home Premium. My antivirus software has caused some issues in
the past, but I have attempted both installing and running AOO in every
variation of security programs running and not running there is, with no impact
on the crashing problem.
And help on this matter would be of great help. I am college student who is
currently unable to write papers from home... this is very frustrating.
