log4php?

There wasn't a report from log4php in this month's Incubator report,
and looking at the history things have been pretty quiet in its
reports for a long time (also, no svn commit or dev email for 10
months).

Anyone know what's up with it?

Quite likely no one does - in which case I'll ask the Logging PMC as
log4php is very much under their auspices (svn and mail list both
there).

The "if people come along..." sentence is a very good point. I like this idea.

log4php incubator status

Posted by Curt Arnold <ca...@apache.org>.
There has been very little activity in the Subversion repository or
on the mailing lists for the log4php project. It would be good to
resolve the fate of the project and get it out of the incubator
somehow, either by a termination or exit. I would appreciate Marco
or any other interested party to provide their take on the status of
the project and desirable resolutions. If log4php is retired, any
recommendations on logging for PHP developers would be appreciated.

Why move codebase?? Although it is a relative small effort, but is there any
point in it?

Update the status page and the "homepage" with the 'retired' status should be
enough, right? Perhaps with a link to some "HowTo Revive" page...

Cheers

Actually ... what if we were to establish an area under incubator/, which we
need anyway for podlings that get retired, and allow whichever PMCs are
currently responsible for them to move all retired codebases to there? If
people come along in the future and want to revive them, this is the right
place to rebuild community. And having it here rather than, for example,
some "museum.apache.org" location provides a tacit statement that it is
available for rebirth if such a community were to come along.

Given that no one has said anything about this project either in
incubator land or in logging service land, I'm leaning towards the
above at the moment. But it's a holiday weekend, at least in the US,
let's wait another few days for responses. Maybe we can shoot for a
move on this by the next incubator monthly report.

Thanks Yoav.

Given the peculiar nature of log4php, I think there's a rather odd
notion available of considering it to retire from incubation into the
logging project as a retired subproject. Close down the lists, and
keep the svn as it is in logging/.

I might be the only Logging PMC member who's also hanging out here and
on the Incubator PMC, so I suppose I should help out ;) I don't
recall seeing any log4php activity recently at the Logging PMC level.
I'll ask over there, CC you, and we'll probably head towards retiring
log4php from incubation.
