[Issue 125414] New: Writer/Labels - Purged/deleted .odb files in Select Database pulldown list. Additional digit(file sequence #) appended to new .odb file name

https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=125414

          Issue ID: 125414
        Issue Type: DEFECT
Summary: Writer/Labels - Purged/deleted .odb files in Select
Database pulldown list. Additional digit(file sequence
#) appended to new .odb file name
           Product: Writer
           Version: 4.1.0
          Hardware: PC
                OS: Windows 7
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: major
          Priority: P3
         Component: ui
          Assignee: issues@openoffice.apache.org
          Reporter: tjmincnj@gmail.com

When using Writer to create new Labels, the Database pulldown selection menu
continues to display old/deleted .odb files. Also, if you attempt to re-use a
previous deleted .odb file name, the application(not sure which component)
modifies the new .odb file by appending an additional digit to the name of your
database.

Here's my forum post on the problem:

Over the weekend I purged the following 5 old .odb Base test files(USMC_DB1,
USMC_DB2, USMC_DB3, USMC_DB4 and USMC_DB5).
When I opened Base ... they were gone.

This morning while setting up for a mailing list project, I created a new Calc
Spreadsheet(USMC1) with a 10 Column Table(USMC_TABLE1), imported my CSV data,
... everything look fine.

>From within the USMC1 spreadsheet, used (File=>New=>Database) to open the
Database Wizard. My selections were:
Step 1. Connect to an existing database = Spreadsheet
Step 2. Set up Spreadsheet Connection = (Path to USMC1.ods) No Password
Step 3. Saved/Named my new database file USMC_DB1

Here's where things get mucky:

>From within the USMC1 spreadsheet, used (File=>New=>Labels) to open the Label
setup screen.

On the Labels Tab, when I use the pulldown list to select my Database ... the
list still contains my old deleted Database file USMC-DB1 and my newly created
Database file USMC_DB1 is now shown as USMC_DB11. The correct Table is shown
for each ...

Why is this and other purged/deleted .odb database files still in the pulldown
list? Is this list assigned to some sort of a recently open file table that can
be cleared so that deleted .odb files are not shown?

I checked within the Database Wizard ... the recently opened Database pulldown
list does not show any of the old purged/deleted .odb files.

I hope the above helps explains the issue. I've been able to recreate the above
with no problem.

Please let me know if you need any additional info or screen shots.

Danke!

SOLVED!

Received a reply to my forum post a short while ago from VILLEROY. Villeroy
informed me that unwanted Base registrations are removed via TOOLS>OPTIONS.

Many thanks to Villeroy for clearing this up!
