Page recorder is locked after a commit()

Occasionally I'll get an exception while in the source of a Foreach.

Page recorder for page ListGrants is locked after a commit(), but received a
change to property grants of component ListGrants.

The page will work fine, then fail, then work fine again with no intervening
changes. I am setting the persistent property "grants" in getGrantsList(),
but the failure only happens intermittently.

What causes this error, so I can figure out how to fix it.

its not possible to call a fireObserveChange from a getter methode.
