Spark logs on disk when running Livy in local-spark mode?

 Hi there,

I'm working on a Python application in which Livy runs with Spark in local
mode. I'm having an issue where Spark appears to be crashing or entirely
failing to start when I try to start a new session. I'm trying to find a
way to make Spark save its logs to disk so I can view them after it's
crashed. I tried working from an example log4j.properties but had no luck,
and can't find clear documentation of the log4j.properties options anyway.

Could someone point me in the right direction, please?
