Logging Unicode Input

Hi, 

Just wondering if log4j knows how to log unicode input.  I am getting ??? in
place of unicode characters.  It would be nice if I could get entries like
'\u3045\u6034'.  Is this beyond log4j?

org.apache.struts.actions.DispatchAction - HiraganaInput = ???
