[users@httpd] LOTS of redirects

I'm getting ready to make the domain transfer from my
old server to the new, and the new one has a totally
different URL directory structure. I'm thinking
Apache would be the place to set up the redirects as
opposed to my shopping cart software. It's looking
like I'll write a script to spit out a big list of
redirects and copy it into httpd.conf. I think I'd
rather not mess with anything but "straightforward"
1-to-1 redirects because I don't want to have to
figure out all the possible ways flexible redirects
could screw up. Does this sound pretty good? There
will be about 200 redirects. How long should I wait
to remove them?
