[jira] [Created] (CASSANDRA-9518) Assassinate should work even if the endpoint state isn't present

Brandon Williams created CASSANDRA-9518:
-------------------------------------------

Summary: Assassinate should work even if the endpoint state isn't present
                 Key: CASSANDRA-9518
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CASSANDRA-9518
             Project: Cassandra
          Issue Type: Bug
          Components: Core
            Reporter: Brandon Williams
            Assignee: Brandon Williams
             Fix For: 2.0.x

Similar to CASSANDRA-6787, if the endpointStateMap.get(endpoint) call returns null, we should make one up and continue along with the assassination, since this could still be the endpoint 'bouncing around in gossip' and that makes it tricky to assassinate.
