[jira] [Commented] (GUACAMOLE-60) Performance tuning documentation

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/GUACAMOLE-60?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=16344036#comment-16344036 ]

Michael Jumper commented on GUACAMOLE-60:

With client side I ment that I just don't know if there are any client side problems since we've used our own frontend. We've integrated guacamole ourselfes.

If you're having problems with performance with your own custom-built frontend, the first step to narrow things down would be to use an unmodified and current copy of upstream.

I'm asking if there are already parts of the documentation mentioning performance hints I could gather up in a separate section or something. Otherwise, I'd like to get some hints on where in the architecture you see possibilities for that.

In general, Guacamole should automatically tune itself. If you're having specific issues, I suggest instead opening a thread on the mailing lists, describing specifically what you're seeing and what you've tried so far. JIRA is meant as a bug/issue tracking system, not a forum.

The mailing lists will be a good resource for troubleshooting if you're having no luck on your own, but keep in mind that we can really only help with respect to the upstream web application and API. To the extent that a particular problem is specific to your code, there may be nothing we can do except to try to point you in the right direction.

> It would be great to have a central place to document the different places where one could tune settings or change flags to get maximum performance in the different aspects:
> CPU
> Network latency / Network throughput
> eventually client side? (havent had any problems there yet...)
> Can you point me some direction where I could gather these informations in order to improve the documentation?
