Apache 2x and PHP apps

Since installing Apache 2x does not matter which version of apache 2.
but ever since I cannot get any of PHP to work. I have downloaded all
the PHP I can find. Im using REDHAT 7.2. when I try to use any of the
PHP apps all it shows is the code. I am a newbie using Apache but I have
been able to get everything to work with earlier versions of Apache. Any
help would be very much appreciated.

P.S yes I have read all of the docs I can find I have even asked others
on the net but unable to find any answers..
