I am a writer. Current version of Open Office is 4.1.0. Since installing
latest version, AutoSpellCheck now fails every word in novel ms, EXCEPT words I
have added to Dictionary. Have uninstalled and reinstalled. Manuscript
averages 40 lines x 12 words per line x 775 pages.
Driving me crazy.

try to remove the folders named "extensions" and "uno_packages" in the user
profile.
The user profile is usually located in
C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Roaming\OpenOffice\4\user
