<layout:date>

           Summary: <layout:date>
           Product: Struts
           Version: 1.1 Final
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Windows NT/2K
            Status: NEW
          Severity: Minor
          Priority: Other
         Component: Unknown
        AssignedTo: dev@struts.apache.org
        ReportedBy: fendy_shiro@hotmail.com

as it says in the documentation for <layout:date>

"isRequired : If set to true a red star is displayed after the field if its
value is null. Value: true | fal se Default: false [EL ] "

when i set this flag to true and pick a date from a date picker, the red star
doesn't dissapear, i guess it doesn't treat that as not null value, but if i
manually enter the date or any characters the red start does dissapear.

Thanks
