Basic question about usability

My company is attempting to use Apache SOAP 2.1 to access a non-Apache SOAP
server.  It has been a nightmare for us to get it working.  Should Axis be
easier to use than the SOAP 2.1?
 
I guess my real question is:  Before we spend time trying to get Axis
working for our situation, given that there is no user mailing list yet, are
you discouraging all users from using the code right now?
