merging outbound and inbound wires

I'm starting to re-work some of the wiring by merging inbound and  
outbound wires.  The intent is to simplify our general wiring  
infrastructure as well as the Connector. This is designed to dovetail  
with how components will be constituted on a slave using marshalling  
of the the physical component and wire definition from the master.

Merging inbound and outbound wires will touch a lot of classes in  
kernel so in order not to break the build, I will need to perform a  
couple of large commits. I'll try and make them as granular as  
possible but I want to make sure it is a least disruptive as possible.
