How do I use apr_tokenize_to_argv with apr_getopt_init?

apr_getopt_init requires argc parameters, but apr_tokenize_to_argv 
doesn't give a count of how many elements it tokenized.  What is a 
proper way of using tokenize_to_argv (with a string) to use it with getopt?
