Interaction between different versions of Axis and the Tomcat Server.

To all,

I am trying to understand the way in which Axis and Tomcat interact ......

I have some web services that use axis 1.1 and some that use axis 1.2 (by use I mean that they include the jar files in the web services).

I am told that axis 1.1 and 1.2 has been installed on the tomcat server and that it can run side by side.

Reading the axis documentation it says :

========================================================================================================================
But Axis isn't just a SOAP engine -- it also includes:
*	a simple stand-alone server,
*	a server which plugs into servlet engines such as Tomcat,

========================================================================================================================

Both of the web services are to be deployed on the same tomcat server + port .

How does Axis the server engine work with Tomcat ?????

Is the first version of axis that is found using the Classpath instantiated with Tomcat, or is it dynamically loaded according to the WSDL deployed, or according to the version of axis that is deployed with the Web Services ?????

I am somewhat confused with the actual interactions between the web services, tomcat and axis ......

Many Thanks for your help,

Mike.
