A few documentation patches expanding some of the documentation, e.g. adding 
basic documentation for the remaining functions.

Also an update to site_printable.vsl which allows the index to be generated 
without second-level (sub-section) entries, and an option to split the index 
into two columns, based on matching the start of the section name. The 
intention is to make the page more compact.

One thing I noticed is that the printable pages are still a bit wide for 
printing (and probably also for Help). I think this is mainly due to a few 
large images, and one or two pre-formatted text sections that have rather long 
lines. I've fixed some of the longer lines, but not (yet) the images.
