[users@httpd] Apache/SSL question
This might be a silly question but I've never had to deal with this
issue before. I took over managing a server and it's running Apache 1.3x
on it and has openssl installed, however, it does not have Apache SSL on
it....is it possible to install Apache SSL without having to recompile
Apache? I was looking at the Docs..and it just seems to me you have to
recompile...but I wanted to double check before making a move.
TIA!

Nope. you have to recompile Apache and any existing modules.
That's one of the many weaknesses of Apache 1.3 that simply go away
when you upgrade to 2.0 - which makes things work much better.
Your choice: expend more effort on old software, or move into
this century!

you could always just install mod_ssl and just load the module for ssl
support, then add it to the list of modules, not positive, maybe someone
on here will back me up on this. check out http://www.modssl.org/
