Building James with JDK Sun 1.4 beta3 / nntp

I am trying to build James from CVS usins Sun's JDK 1.4 beta3.

Apparently the once undocumented sun.net.nntp classes are now gone away...
am I missing something?

Good point, we should move away.

At present sun.net.nntp is used for testing. It does not impact any James
Server feature. Something good to do, but not too big, I think.

Maybe one step would be to detect JDK1.4 in the buld.xml and exclude
org/apache/james/testing/NNTPClient.java. Maybe some Ant expert with JDK1.4
could do this one.
BTW. does JDK1.4 mess up JDK1.3 install ?
