Well, the requirements for a mirror state:

• You must do an update-check at least once a day, and preferably twice a day. You may sync 4 times (max) per day, but only if you have a slow or poor connection, causing timeouts.

I think	this would be the best:

"
Use the links below to download Apache Jackrabbit releases from one of our mirrors.
You should verify the integrity of the files using the signatures and checksums available from this page.
Please note that some of the mirrors might not be up-to-date shortly after the release; in this case wait 12-24 hours until the distribution becomes available on your preferred mirror.
"

WDYT?

Actually they say:

"Send the release announcement once the web site and download mirrors
have been synced."

How would you check that *all* the mirrors up to date? Are all actually
functional?

Or on the downloads page...

Best regards, Julian

Thanks Julian..

I thought the release instructions say to wait 48 hours until all the mirrors picked up the release, before sending the announce mail.
For example: http://ftp.jaist.ac.jp/pub/apache/jackrabbit/2.15.8/jackrabbit-2.15.8-src.zip reports a 404.

Fine with me, if we ignore this rule, it makes releasing easier. But then we should probably write it in the announce mail.

Thanks.
