CVS, SSH, and Apache.Org

I continue to have a perfectly awful time getting CVS commands
    through to Taz. I don't know if it's the packet-dropper (can't that
be disabled now, Brian?) or the volume of traffic from Dean's
commits <g>, but I have to repeat operations for *hours* before one
    will go through.

If this isn't the packet-dropper - or even if it is - will the
pserver interface work better than the SSH setup I'm currently
    using?

    #ken    :-(}

Nope I haven't had troubles... but I suspect that I can lock out other
folks quite easily... I'm working with Ken to figure out what's up with
his setup.

Nope, none. I am using compression (default level 6) and idea keys. If
you are using keys that take more bandwidth you may have more issues.

pserver may be a touch better because its authentication really sucks and
I'm not even considering network sniffing, since that is by far the least
of your worries. Believe me, you don't want to use it if you don't have
to. It even stores your password in an unencrypted form on your local
drive.

Hmm, during the weekend the traffic is lower, so the packet loss should be
less - yesterday afternoon is was down to around 1%, at least during the
windows I was trying it. If it doesn't get better next week when bandwidth
through Wired becomes accessible there's not much more I can do. Dean,
Mark, did you have trouble this weekend with your commits?

I don't know how much more efficient it might be.
