Hi Chuck,

By default OpenOffice does not spell check words that are in all caps.
 This is because they are typically acronyms, company names or similar
that are not in spell checking dictionaries.  But you can enable this
checking if you want.  Go to Tools/Options/Language Settings/Writing
Aids.  There is a check box labeled "check upper case words".  Click
that, restart OpenOffice, and it should mark "AUHTORITIES" as an
error.
