[jira] Created: (STDCXX-482) [Sun C++ 5.9] LIMITS configuration test enters infinite loop in optimized builds

[Sun C++ 5.9] LIMITS configuration test enters infinite loop in optimized builds
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

                 Key: STDCXX-482
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/STDCXX-482
             Project: C++ Standard Library
          Issue Type: Bug
          Components: Configuration
    Affects Versions: 4.2
         Environment: Sun C++ 5.9 (Sun Studio 12)
            Reporter: Andrew Black
            Priority: Critical

(See also report by Michael van der Westhuizen in http://mail-archives.apache.org/mod_mbox/incubator-stdcxx-dev/200707.mbox/%3cd21d65950707071532m4b97f2a8l692b6d925dc41686@mail.gmail.com%3e )

Nightly testing indicates that release builds with trunk and the Sun Studio 12 compiler lead to an infinite loop while running the LIMITS (numeric limits) configuration test. As a result, it is necessary to deschedule these requests from testing to avoid clogging the nightly testing system until it has been investigated/resolved.

[jira] Updated: (STDCXX-482) [Sun C++ 5.9] LIMITS configuration test enters infinite loop in optimized builds

     [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/STDCXX-482?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:all-tabpanel ]

Martin Sebor updated STDCXX-482:
--------------------------------

    Affects Version/s:     (was: 4.2)
                       trunk
        Fix Version/s: trunk

4.1.3 doesn't appear to have this problem (although the library itself fails to compile with Sun Studio 12) so it must have been a regression introduced during development on trunk.
