Users of Apache Flex
Hi comunity,
In my interest to know who use, old and that kind of projects apache flex
is used, because is very important for my work to determinate the future
of the tool (Apache Flex),
This work is part of my master degree.

I mainly use it for mobile apps of any type (excluding for games).

Hi,
1) we developed and currently maintaining a mobile app (iphone, Android) +
web app, used to create on site & real-time commercial quotation based on
our client products. The same app is available as web app too.
2) We developed and currently maintaining a mobile app (iphone, Android) &
Web App that displays data arriving from hardware spread all over our
country.
3) A web app to help building administrator community to organize their
work and to improve the communication with their clients.
4) A new enterprise app/Web app is in study.
Every project has a Java backend.

Hi Michael,
We have a Flex-based commodity trading application in use since 2011.
Many of our users still use IE8.
All are on desktops, none use our application on mobile devices.
We've tried the various HTML5 frameworks, none can replace the functionality
of Flex on IE8 without significant 'shimming'.

I'm developing in Flex for a major investment bank for a foreign exchange trading application used internally and by our clients. Flex allows us to deploy to both desktop and web and not worry about browser fragmentation issues.

I created a large in house enterprise application for one of the biggest german logistic companies. It's a heavy load portal for managing their trucks and cargo.
One of my private projects was an internet community software for fans of electronic dance music (Took it offline a while ago cause none seems to use anything except facebook anymore ;-) )

I've done a fair bit of Flex development for the past couple of years:
1. In house enterprise system covering end-to-end business operations,
consisting of different modules:
Contracting and Purchase System
Trading and Marketing Application
Pricing And Forecasting Application
2. Reporting System for a Wine Merchant
3. Released a school directory application

4. Interview Test Application
Most of the apps built were using .NET as a backend connecting to SQL
servers (except for the mobile one where it was perusing Open Data).

other frameworks out there.

I am in the Flash World for 13 yrs. with a focus on Flex for 5 yrs.
I’ve used Flex for multimedia online apps, small to medium size business apps (Air) and personal IOS apps.
Besides it is kind of my private home language, so if there’s anything I’d like to try out or experiment with I quickly write a Flex app or use Flex to create an UI.
