Apache Bug? Immunix incompatibility?

Running linux 2.4.18 with the grsecurity patch.
Using Immunix 7.0 (which is essentially Red Hat 7.0)

Using these gdbm versions (installed through rpm -Uvh):

gdbm-devel-1.8.0-5_imnx
gdbm-1.8.0-5_imnx

using egcs-2.91.66-StackGuard

*** The same thing happens with just "./configure" ***

Sooooo .. here's htpasswd.c :

    265 #if defined(WIN32) || defined(TPF) || defined(NETWARE)
    266         " (default)"
    267 #endif
    268         ".\n");
    269 fprintf(stderr, " -d Force CRYPT encryption of the password"
    270 #if (!(defined(WIN32) || defined(TPF) || defined(NETWARE)))
    271             " (default)"
    272 #endif
    273             ".\n");
