[jira] [Created] (CASSANDRA-17898) Add metrics around storage usage and compression to enable easier comparison between existing and new compression algorithms

Josh McKenzie created CASSANDRA-17898:
-----------------------------------------

             Summary: Add metrics around storage usage and compression to enable easier comparison between existing and new compression algorithms
                 Key: CASSANDRA-17898
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CASSANDRA-17898
             Project: Cassandra
          Issue Type: Improvement
          Components: Observability/Metrics
            Reporter: Josh McKenzie
            Assignee: Josh McKenzie

To track gains in efficiency of compression and provide a common foundation for comparing different (and new!) compression algorithms we need to add a few new metrics:
 * Un-replicated logical storage load
 * Un-replicated, uncompressed logical storage load
 * Replicated but uncompressed storage load (like storage service load today, but showing compression)
