[jira] [Commented] (ARROW-13731) [Doc][Cookbook] Adding a column to an existing Table - R

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ARROW-13731?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=17430525#comment-17430525 ]

Nicola Crane commented on ARROW-13731:
--------------------------------------

Closing this ticket as the chapter on working with Arrow Table objects via the dplyr API implicitly covers this via {{dplyr::mutate}}. However, other things we should consider separately:
* do we want to provide instructions for working with the lower-level Arrow objects available in R and calling their methods directly? I think this depends on our target audience
* do we want to include a chapter on working with Dataset objects and discuss the differences between Tables and Datasets? I think so
