[jira] [Created] (LEGAL-193) Github Gist lacking license information

Michael Joyce created LEGAL-193:
-----------------------------------

Summary: Github Gist lacking license information
                 Key: LEGAL-193
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/LEGAL-193
             Project: Legal Discuss
          Issue Type: Question
            Reporter: Michael Joyce

Hi Legal,

OCW utilizes a piece of code that was found on a Gist [1]. Specifically, the entirety of the TaylorDiagram class is used. I stumbled upon this when checking that all the project files had proper headers. There isn't any licensing information that I can find on the Gist. I've since contacted the author asking if they would be willing to explicitly license their work, but I haven't received a response. The relevant OCW issue is available at [2].

What would be the proper course of action in this case assuming the author doesn't respond?
