JIRA

Hi all,

Our JIRA is up and running: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/openaz

Please create accounts and let me know your usernames + I will add them to
the "developers" group for the project.

Hal, do you want to take the "project lead" role in JIRA?

What versions should be created in JIRA for the project? The poms are at
0.0.1-SNAPSHOT. What is the next release number that we anticipate
releasing?

Colm.

RE: JIRA

Posted by Hal Lockhart <ha...@oracle.com>.
The problems are purely Oracle internal and therefore affect Rich Levinson, Prateek Mishra and me. I initially thought that the approvals we got when we started the project would suffice, but apparently not. It is not really about the licensing, but more about resource allocation.

I will create a JIRA account and let you know.

Usually, what I have seen is the use of x.y.z (major, minor, bug fix).

The use of Milestones (M) and ReleaseCandidates (RC) are also common :

1.0.0-M1 -> 1.0.0-M2 -> ... 1.0.0-M7 -> 1.0.0-RC1 -> 1.0.0-RC2 -> ...
1.0.0-RC4 -> 1.0.0 (final version)

But as Colm says, this is just one way of doing things. You can even
start with pre-1.0 versions, like 0.7.

Just one rule : discuss the scheme on the mailing list so that everyone
agrees with it.

Not really, it's totally up to the project. The next release could be 0.0.1
or 1.0 or 1.0.0 etc etc.
