We certainly might have called listen on the new socket.  It could be a socket created by a library like jetty, which it intends to use for that purpose.  Plus, we do much more than call accept on sockets.  We also call read, write, etc.  Please realize how serious this race condition is.

We are going to have to use a different way to solve this problem on Solaris-- probably by avoiding blocking accept entirely and using another {{select()}} loop.  In the meantime, -1 for any code which would introduce this race condition.
