   **Update:** managed to resolve the issue but not sure what actually caused this. I ended up removing all resources from the namespace and rebooting all my cluster nodes, after which I was able to bring up a clean install. Seems that there must've been some hidden remnants that appeared deleted to the Kubernetes API but were in fact still present somehow?
