Architechture for Xindice to build up an web site

Hi,

I am new to Xindice, I want to build a web site with search function, what architecture can I use?

Tomcat + Cocoon + Xindice???

Can I just use Tomcat + Xindice to bulid up an web site with text search?
Should I use XML-RPC to access, are there any examples or articles??
