[RESULT] [VOTE] Release 1.2.12rc6 as official log4j 1.2.12 release

Posted by Mark Womack <mw...@apache.org>.
Just to officially close this, the 1.2.12rc6 version was accepted as the
official 1.2.12 release with 3 positive votes, 0 negative votes, and 1
abstention.

Files were updated with the release date of the build, the cvs was tagged
with v1_2_12, and an official build was created. The vote now goes to the
LS PMC for official approval for release.

Elias,

They are on the boat for the 1.3 task list. I haven't spent time putting
together a task list to review for 1.3, but after the 1.2.12 release and the
svn migration, 1.3 will be the immediate focus. We'll get organized around
it then.

+1

Incidentally, I do want to see my concurrent patches in 1.3 sometime.

Thanks.

Yeah!

We need one more committer to vote positive to go ahead with the PMC release
vote and, if approved, actual release.

Thanks,

+1

My last set of modifications to the unit tests did not appear to take
the first time even though commit messages hit the list. I retried
and it appears to have taken this time and used the same revision
numbers. The modifications have no effect on the distribution.

Checked the tarball and zip for consistency.

Unit tests run with no failures on the following platforms:

Mac OS/X + Java 1.4.2_50 (had to specify -Djavac.source=1.3 as 1.1
was not recognized)
Windows 2000 + JDK 1.1.8, JDK 1.2.2, JDK 1.3.1_15, JDK 1.4.2_09, JDK
1.5.0_04
SuSE 9.3 x86_64 + Java 1.4.2_08

Hi Mark and Curt,

I can only give a +0 as I have zero time to evaluate the release, but
from everything I've read, you guys have done a remarkable job, so I
applaud your efforts and stand behind you (putting aside the fact
that i still think < JDK 1.3 is not worth the effort, but everyone
calls me the upgrade-a-tron here at work, so that's no surprise really).

Incidently the reason I have no time is that I'm going on a (much
needed) O/S holiday friday week for 4w, so I'll be out of touch for a
while, and I'm busily trying to tie up loose ends here at work.

Thanks again for all the work you guys have put into the release stuff.

Paul
