Confluence & Themes

Hi,

Does anyone know if it's possible to install a theme on a per space basis?
It would be nice if we could install confluence themes just for our space so
that we can start changing the look and feel of the confluence site.

Any help, thoughts, and comments would be greatly welcome!

Thanks,

Allan

The perms were set up wrong. It's fixed now.

You have to send the template back to me for me to install it.

Re: Confluence & Themes

Hi Alan,

I'm getting permission error from the crontab doing the export rsync. Could
this be because you created the jsecurity directory and the crontab is under
my account?

Here are the errors:

rsync: mkstemp "/www/
incubator.apache.org/jsecurity/.2008-07-board-report.html.UteDgz" failed:
Permission denied (13)
rsync: mkstemp "/www/incubator.apache.org/jsecurity/.about.html.Xtg8XC"
failed: Permission denied (13)
rsync: mkstemp "/www/
incubator.apache.org/jsecurity/.board-reports.html.uo4UfE" failed:
Permission denied (13)
rsync: mkstemp "/www/incubator.apache.org/jsecurity/.index.html.Gx4eCr"
failed: Permission denied (13)
rsync: mkstemp "/www/
incubator.apache.org/jsecurity/.mailing-lists.html.xB0H2i" failed:
Permission denied (13)
rsync: mkstemp "/www/
incubator.apache.org/jsecurity/resources/.space.css.0MDCw4" failed:
Permission denied (13)
rsync error: some files could not be transferred (code 23) at main.c(1060)
[sender=3.0.0]

Also, once I'm done with the template, where do I place it so that it's
picked up during the export?

Thanks,

Allan

Re: Confluence & Themes

Hi guys,

I've set up the cron job to perform the rsync of the auto-export to the
Jsecurity site. However, I'm trying to access the theme configurator (link
from the cwiki FAQ:
http://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/login.action?os_destination=%2Fadmin%2Fautoexport%2Fconfiguration.action),
but I apparently do not have sufficient privileges to do so.

Whom should I contact to gain access to this? Or did I miss a step in that
user guide?

Thanks!

It's automatically enabled for all Confluence spaces. The JSEC space
is exported here:
/www/confluence-exports/JSEC

You can find the details on setting up a sync to your site here:
http://cwiki.apache.org/CWIKI/#Index-Canweusetheautoexportsiteaspartofourmainwebsite%253F

That page also contains information on how to configure the
auto-exporter. I've found this to be a great way to maintain a project
web site. Please note the requirements on CLA on file for contributors
if the space should be the JSecurity site.

Alain or Craig,

How do we request that a plug-in either be installed or enable for our space
on Confluence? I've found the plug-in you mentioned (
http://code.google.com/p/couldit-autoexport/w/list), but I don't see
anywhere to either install it ourselves or see a list of plug-ins available
to our space.

Thanks,

You can futz with the layout and colors of the wiki to a limited
degree. What many projects do is to use a Confluence plugin that
generates a website. When a page gets modified the corresponding
website page gets regenerated.

The nice thing about this plugin is that you have enormous control
over the look and feel. Check out the Geronimo web site. It uses
this plugin.
