Re: Configuring Tomcat
Dear All
After switching to Tomcat from using Apache JServ 1.1 on my Apache 1.1.13
server I am encountering problems with the new configuration format.
Previously I made simple mappings to a /servlets directory but when I do
this in tomcat and attempt to access a simple servlet (HelloWorldServlet) I
get a blank HTML document. I found the following question in the
Faq-O-Matic:
Can I invoke my servlets via /servlets instead of /servlet ? In Apache /
Jserv I create my own zones with this mapping. But I can't find any way to
do this in Tomcat.
but there is no answer. All I want is to access my servlets from a /servlets
and /servlet directories and my .jsp files to be redirected to tomcat and
there seems to be no simple way of doing this. Can anyone with any
experience in tomcat configuration help me out on this.

ApJServSecretKey DISABLED
ApJServMountCopy on
ApJServLogLevel notice
ApJServDefaultHost localhost
ApJServDefaultPort 8007
ApJServMount /servlets /servlets

It seems that all you need to do is to add:
in web.xml
<servlet-mapping>
<servlet-name>
invoker
</servlet-name>
<url-pattern>
/servlets/*
</url-pattern>
</servlet-mapping>
This will make Tomcat stand-alone use /servlets/ to invoke servlets.
If you use Tomcat as an add-on to Apache you will also have to add the
following to your
.conf file:
ApJServMount /servlets /ROOT
Now, where has my Faq-O-Matic password gone?
