Whenever I open the writer or even preview a file through windows the cursor
flashes between an arrow and the wait circle. (sorry I'm no expert so you might
have to decipher this) Also when I have the writer up and move the cursor over
the tool-bars at the top, they also take on the rapid flashing of the cursor,
only there is no other item they switch to so it looks like they are flashing
on and off instead of to another item like the cursor does. I don't know if
this is some sort of compatibility problem with windows but I would be happy to
answer questions or even remote connect to an expert to figure it out. This
happens every time no matter what I have running.

I try to resolve your problem, and I don't think it's a problem with the
compatibility of Windows.
I'd like if you can more explain what happens when you do that.
