I am interested in helping translate Open Office from English to Hindi.
Please let me know how to proceed.

Hindi is at 88%. If you can help reaching 100%, we will release 
OpenOffice in Hindi.

If you feel like you can help, please request a Pootle account as 
explained in https://wiki.openoffice.org/wiki/Pootle_User_Guide and we 
will create one for you.
