[jira] [Created] (ARROW-563) C++: Support non-standard gcc version strings

Uwe L. Korn created ARROW-563:
---------------------------------

             Summary: C++: Support non-standard gcc version strings
                 Key: ARROW-563
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ARROW-563
             Project: Apache Arrow
          Issue Type: Improvement
          Components: C++
            Reporter: Uwe L. Korn
            Assignee: Uwe L. Korn

There are some GCC versions in the wild that use {{gcc-Version}} vs {{gcc version}} in their version string. These are ones built with a different locale.

Not a blocker as these are very rare occasions and rather more builds of GCC with uncommon/wrong flags.
