[jira] [Commented] (CB-4877) CLI should show progress output

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CB-4877?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=13776633#comment-13776633 ]

Braden Shepherdson commented on CB-4877:
----------------------------------------

I'm going to work on this. I think we should take a leaf from Android's book and add a further layer of event-emitting.

That is, we always show 'error's, show 'warn'ings and 'log's unless --silent, and show 'verbose' only if --verbose.

> TLDR: We don't want to show as much output as --verbose does, but we would like some logging to happen.
> A good start would be to say when doing any network fetching, to say when a longer task (platform create, plugin add, dependent plugin add) is about to start.
> Also, a --silent flag should be added that causes no output.
