In SaslRpcClient, starting at line 576:

synchronized(unwrappedRpcBuffer) {
// fill the buffer with the next RPC message
if (unwrappedRpcBuffer.remaining() == 0) {
readNextRpcPacket();
}
{code}
readNextRpcPacket() may assign another ByteBuffer to unwrappedRpcBuffer, making the lock on previous ByteBuffer not useful.
