[jira] [Commented] (MATH-917) More distance measurements are needed
in o.a.c.m.stat.clustering.

Gilles commented on MATH-917:
-----------------------------
These are indeed suitable additions.
However the design of this package is not a settled issue. And in particular, embedding the notion of distance in a "...Point" class does not look right at first sight.
Apart from that, the whole "clustering" package should not be in "stat". We should have a discussion on the "dev" ML about a consistent design of the classification algorithms (cf. MATH-748).
As we are close to the release (and supposedly have been in a feature-freeze for at least two days, even if I did not formally announce it on the ML), I'll not rush to add your latest patches without having a chance to let everyone think about the points which I've just raised.
Sorry or that.

> Currently only Euclidean distance is used for distance measurement, it would be easy to quickly add Manhattan and Chebyshev distance among others.
