[jira] Created: (MSITE-371) use doxia core snapshot

use doxia core snapshot
-----------------------

                 Key: MSITE-371
                 URL: http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/MSITE-371
             Project: Maven 2.x Site Plugin
          Issue Type: Wish
          Components: doxia integration
    Affects Versions: 2.0-beta-8
            Reporter: Alexandre Vasseur
            Priority: Trivial

When I use maven site plugin 2.0-beta-8-SNAPSHOT I can't get doxia core to support verbatim snippet as fixed in January 2008 at http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/DOXIA-142
Can maven site plugin SNAPSHOT updates its dependencie to a newer doxia core ie 1.0-beta-1-SNAPSHOT ?

the verbatim snippet support allows for html inclusion directly in apt fie which would be great for f.e. embedding slideshare and other stuff in maven generated site

-----------------------------------

Upgrading to a snapshot would block us from releasing the Site plugin, so I wouldn't want to do it unless a Doxia release was expected very soon.

If you're happy using snapshots, you can change the doxiaVersion property in the site plugin pom and build the site plugin locally with the later version of Doxia.

There are some notes on the wiki about patching plugins and doing an 'internal release' which would be a bit more stable. http://docs.codehaus.org/display/MAVENUSER/Patching+Maven+Plugins

If you need to embed HTML, you might consider using xdoc for that page instead of apt.

-----------------------------------------

If I use my own local build of the site plugin I need to make it available to the other dev of the team and this is complex as we don't have an internal repo.
Using xdoc is not an option as we have customized the site plugin (which generates menu on the side anyway)
I'll open an issue on Doxia to see if there is a release planned.
