[Issue 127102] New: can't open another file if OpenOffice is already
running
https://bz.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=127102
Issue ID: 127102
Issue Type: DEFECT
Summary: can't open another file if OpenOffice is already
running
Product: Writer
Version: 4.1.2
Hardware: PC
OS: Windows 10
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: Major
Priority: P5 (lowest)
Component: open-import
Assignee: issues@openoffice.apache.org
Reporter: tom@tommunch.com
I get "can't open another file if OpenOffice is already running" when no other
version is running - usually I've just closed a file in OpenOffice Writer.
Then it asks if I want to continue. When I say "yes" it asks for my name and
starts OpenOffice as if for the first time with all preferences set to default
and all macros and customizations gone. I've had this happen twice in the last
three days. I'm opening Word 97/2000 files with nothing else running other
than DropBox and Avast AntiVirus.
Any ideas what could be causing this?

Did you make your installation with administrator privileges?
This kind of behavior is clearly a operating system issue.

Yes!
Don't change the status without trying what I suggest.

I don't know if I made the installation with administrator privileges. Is that
the default?

Okay, then I guess I made the installation with administrator privileges. What
do you suggest I try?
