Summary: basic auth passwd entry
Product: Apache httpd-2.0
Version: 2.0.53
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: mod_auth
AssignedTo: bugs@httpd.apache.org
ReportedBy: cancense@hotmail.com
when using basic authentication, .htaccess files and setting passwd with
htpasswd i have found:
when logging in using firefox 1.0.2, assuming you enter the correct username,
when entering password, again assuming the password is entered correctly, you
can append the passwd entry with any number of any characters and access will
still be granted. this does not apply to the username, this must be entered
exactly as stated.
