Maven issue fixed in Maven 2.1, however I have made a workaround so that it will build properly with Maven 2.0.x.

Said "fix" in Maven 2.1 is now reverted in 2.2, thus, definitely don't rely on
it.
DON'T use Maven 2.1 for releases. It doesn't work with the gpg plugin due to
the pom manipulation that 2.1 after gpg signs the poms.
