startup script problems

           Summary: startup script problems
           Product: JMeter
           Version: 1.7
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: Normal
          Priority: Other
         Component: Main
        AssignedTo: jmeter-dev@jakarta.apache.org
        ReportedBy: aspa@kronodoc.fi

the UNIX JMeter startup scripts in bin directory don't have their execute
permissions on when extracted from the tar.gz package.

when i try running JMeter (RedHat 7.3 Linux) using bin/jmeter script i get the
following error message:

[aspa@localhost bin]$ ./jmeter
bash: ./jmeter: bad interpreter: Permission denied

when i convert the file from dos to UNIX format (dos2unix) the script runs fine.
