   Hi @tarunannapareddy, thanks for the contribution. As noted in the review, a new public API on Consumer needs a PIP that is discussed and voted on dev@pulsar.apache.org before the implementation, and the PIP issue #17574 never went to a vote. We're going through the backlog of open PRs (https://lists.apache.org/thread/cgy7w0qgnq8s7j0ykyzgrn3hj4nb67wf), so I'm closing this one. If you'd like to continue, the way forward is a PIP following pip/README.md and a [DISCUSS] thread on dev@. After that, feel free to reopen this rebased on current master.
